SHOE SHAM TRIPPED UP

Cops found $36,000 worth of phony Nike Air Jordan sneakers in a truck at a security checkpoint outside the Queens Midtown Tunnel yesterday, authorities said.

MTA Bridges and Tunnels Officers David Rivera and Darnell Eason pulled over a rental truck headed to Manhattan at 11 a.m., police sources said.

When Rivera asked the driver, Theodore Hutchins, 44, where he was going and what he was transporting, Hutchins said he did not know and could not provide any documentation, police sources said.

His odd behavior led the officers to open the back of the truck, where they found 246 boxes of counterfeit sneakers.

Hutchins and his passenger were both arrested for trademark counterfeiting. The unnamed passenger was also charged with false personation because he had no identification and gave a fake name, police sources said. =
