A 7-month-old barn cat is expected to live after landing in a water trough and getting its tail trapped in three inches of ice.

The cat, Droopy, is healing after being freed with hot water, but may be forced to lose his tail, said his owner, Melissa Jones, of Losantville, Ind.

Researchers are trying to solve the mystery of colony-collapse disorder, an illness that’s wiping out tens of thousands of honeybee colonies across 22 U.S. states.

“I would characterize it as serious,” said Daniel Weaver, president of the American Beekeeping Federation. “Whether it threatens the apiculture industry in the United States or not, that’s up in the air.”

Three British pharmacies will sell Viagra over the counter during a pilot program starting Valentine’s Day.

Suffering suitors, between the ages of 30 and 65, can secure four pills for a mere $97 after sitting down with a pharmacist, who will check each man’s medical history as well as their blood pressure, cholesterol and blood-glucose levels.

After using the four pills, a user must visit his own doctor before getting a refill.

More than 6,000 couples gathered outside a Manila, Philippines, mall over the weekend to secure the world record for the most couples smooching at the same time.

Organizers claim they broke the former mark, which was set in Budapest, Hungary, by 5,875 couples in 2005.

Five out of 69 models were turned away yesterday from Spain’s top fashion show, the Pasarela Cibeles, because they were too skinny.

Organizers said the five failed to meet the required body-mass-to-height ratio needed to participate in the annual event.

“Five hundred people will see them here, but through television, it’ll make it 6 million, and a young girl may think it’s a definition of beauty and may even make herself ill as a result,” said Pasarela Cibeles director Leonor Perez Pita.
