RAW DEAL: ICY TEMPS ALL WEEK

Frigid.

That’s the chilling forecast until Friday at the earliest.

The outlook is so grim that the city’s Department of Homeless Services is deploying outreach teams around the clock to help the homeless.

“This cold weather can be downright dangerous and we don’t want anyone dying on the streets,” said the agency’s commissioner, Robert Hess.

The reason for the deep freeze is a mass of cold air that originated in eastern Canada.

It should stick around until Friday – and maybe Saturday and Sunday – giving up at least five days of temperatures below freezing.

Yesterday, the high was 18, but there were winds of 18 to 20 mph.

With the wind chill, it felt like between zero and 5 degrees. B-r-r-r-r.

Today, it will be partly cloudy with a high of 21. But the wind chill will make it feel like from 5 below to 5 above.

The winds will begin to die down on Wednesday and the temperatures will edge up to 32 on Friday.
