MCCAIN TO DROP IN ON BLOOMY

Arizona Sen. John McCain, the front-runner in the GOP field for president in 2008, will meet privately with Mayor Bloomberg in Manhattan tomorrow night, The Post has learned.

McCain and Bloomberg, who has insisted he has no interest in running for president as a third-party candidate even as some aides push the idea, will have dinner at Gracie Mansion after the senator attends an event at Yeshiva University, sources said.

The two have been close in the past and McCain was supportive of Bloomberg’s 2001 mayoral run.

Bloomberg spokesman John Gallagher said, “Sen. McCain is a good friend and the mayor is looking forward to seeing him.”
