BABY-NAMERS STILL LIKE MIKE

Isabella, Joshua and David surged in popularity among city parents naming newborns last year.

Isabella was the fifth hottest name among 59,714 baby girls born in 2005, up a notch from 2004. Samantha dropped a spot to sixth, according to city Health Department stats.

Meanwhile, Joshua and David climbed to the third and fourth spots among 63,011 boys born.

Justin and Matthew slid to fifth and sixth.

Still, the top spots remained unchanged – Emily, for girls, and Michael, the top boys’ name for at least the 20th year.

Rounding out the girls’ list were: Ashley, Kayla, Sarah, Sophia, Nicole, Olivia and Rachel.

Rounding out the boys’ were:

Daniel, Anthony, Christopher and Joseph.
