WILL HARRY DIE? WRITER TO FACE FANS

‘HARRY Potter” author J.K. Rowling is parking her broomstick in New York tonight for the first of two rare question-and-answer sessions with fans.

Anxious Potterheads, dying to know anything and everything about the next – and final – installment in the “Harry Potter” series, have been preparing for Rowling’s visit for months, mulling over questions for the author during her two-day appearance at Radio City Music Hall.

“I have so much I want to know,” says one fan on Harry site HPANA. “Is Dumbledore really dead? What’s the title of Book 7? Who’s going to die? We have to ask good questions, people.”

“Hopefully, between the two nights we will get some juicy information,” says another fan on the site.

In the event, tonight and tomorrow night, to benefit Doctors Without Borders and the Haven Foundation, Rowling – who hasn’t visited New York in six years – will join authors Stephen King and John Irving for “An Evening With Harry, Carrie and Garp.”

The writers will read from their selected works and then answer questions submitted by fans.

Although Rowling has been known to dodge questions at public events, fans of Harry and his Hogwarts pals are keeping their fingers crossed.

Fans want to know the title and length of Book 7, its release date, more about professor Snape’s past and whether Hermione will end up with Ron or Harry.

Most of all, they’re very interested in a statement made by Rowling that two characters will die in Book 7. Would she actualy reveal more at Radio City?

Despite the rare opportunity to grill Rowling, many are expecting the usually reserved author to keep most of Book 7 top-secret.

“She’s not going to answer anything really good,” says one fan on the Web site The Leaky Cauldron. “You know what she’s going to say, ‘Hmm, that’s interesting.’ “
