STARR REPORT

A danger among us

With all the talk of athletes using steroids and human growth hormone (HGH), HBO’s “Real Sports” takes a look at an unseen enemy affecting younger athletes – emissions from coal-fired power plants. In “The Air We Breathe,” a two-part report kicking off tomorrow (10 p.m.), host Bryant Gumbel and correspondent Jon Frankel take a look at pollutants, generated by coal-fired power plants, inhaled by kids -which can affect their lungs, immune system and respiratory system. According to the report, the biggest population of kids-at-risk is right here in the eastern U.S.
