The parents of a 6-month-old Queens infant were charged with assault last night for allegedly fracturing his skull and inflicting third-degree friction burns on his hand
Little Kevin Gary, was reported in critical condition at Jamaica Hospital before he was transferred to New York Hospital’s burn center.
His parents, Katrina Callaway, 16, and Kevin Gary, Sr. , 32, had tried to leave him at Jamaica under Safe Haven laws – which apply only to newborns under 10 days old, sources said. Officials said the burns resulted from his hands being bound around a pacifier with rubber bands.
Cops were also investigating the father’s relationship with the underage mother.
