BURNED BODY FOUND IN B’KLYN

A grisly discovery was made yesterday in a Brooklyn marsh: the badly burned body of a woman.

The unidentified woman was found in the Fresh Nature preserve near Starrett City about 100 yards from Louisiana Street at 3:30 p.m., police said.

It was not immediately known why or how the woman wound up in the marsh.

A cause of death is pending the results of an autopsy.

The creek, which is a notorious dumping ground for the victims of mobsters, is just a scant mile from where slain student Imette St. Guillen’s body was found earlier this year.

“It’s creepy at night. It’s not an area that I like walking around in – especially by myself,” said a woman who lives nearby.
