JEN HAS LEG UP ON VINCE

She’s got him right where she wants him – and Jennifer Aniston is making sure Vince Vaughn doesn’t turn into as big a heel as some of the other men she’s known.

The co-stars and lovers pose provocatively on the cover of the new edition of Entertainment Weekly, out tomorrow. It’s the first photo shoot of the two together.

The normally towering Vaughn grovels on his hands and knees while a smirking, thighbaring Aniston humorously works out her frustrations by digging one of her espadrille wedges firmly into his back.

The two star in the romantic comedy “The Break-Up,” which is set to open June 2, about a couple who call it quits but still share a condo.

They have been rumored to be dating since late last year.

They’ve been spotted countless times canoodling on beaches and dimly lit restaurants, but refuse to publicly confirm or deny their couplehood.

As Aniston and Vaughn’s relationship has vaulted into singleword status – think Vinnifer – the leggy ex-“Friends” star takes the paparazzi attention in stride.

“You’ve gotta have goals,” she tells the mag sarcastically. “You gotta have something to do, so you may as well stalk people.” Aniston also refutes speculation that the flick – in which the two battle over the messy split – is a mirror image of her own life.

“I didn’t shoot this movie so that people would go see it because it reflects what’s happening in my private life,” she said.

“I’d like to be given a little bit more credit. I know that that’s been said, but I don’t give a s- – what people think. I do parts based on what speaks to me and what I feel I could do a good job at. This just happens to be that.” Aniston and Vaughn’s coupling came in the wake of her split with Brad Pitt after he fell for Angelina Jolie while working with her on the action movie “Mr.

and Mrs. Smith.” Pitt and Jolie are currently in Namibia awaiting the birth of their first child. Pitt, 42, sent an e-mail to the Cannes Film Festival yesterday, saying the joyous event would keep him from the screening of his new film, “Babel.” “With the imminent arrival of the newest addition to our family, I am unable to join . . . the cast and crew in introducing the film,” he wrote.

Meanwhile, foreign journalists wanting to cover the birth must have the actors’ written permission to enter the country, the Namibian government has said.
