KISSEL-MURDER LINK CRUMBLES

A Vermont man whose murder was being probed for links to Andrew Kissel’s slaying was actually killed by acquaintances in a booze-fueled argument, authorities said yesterday.

Joshua Gould, 26, and Christopher Kosmalski, 26, both Vermont residents with long criminal records, were charged yesterday with the May 10 murder of Renato Wieser, 24, in his Winhall, Vt., home.

They allegedly beat and stabbed the victim, then stole coins, jewelry and watches.

Wieser was slain close to where Kissel kept a vacation home and worked as a ski instructor at the same resort as Kissel’s wife.

Vermont police discounted a connection between the cases.

Kissel, a businessman and swindler, was found murdered in his Greenwich, Conn., mansion last month.
