KILLER’S BRO COPS PLEA

A man who helped his murderous brother dump the body of his college student girlfriend got a sweetheart deal from a judge who called his role in the coverup “understandable.”

Queens Supreme Court Justice Robert Hanophy said Farhad “Frank” Popal’s part in aiding convicted murderer Farid “John” Popal, “while possibly being horrific – it was in some ways understandable. He was helping out his brother.”

He added the plea agreement spares the family of slain beauty Samiya Haqiqi, 24, from having to go through another long trial.

“She lost her only daughter,” he said of the victim’s mother.

Popal, 31, yesterday pleaded guilty to first-degree hindering prosecution and was granted a conditional discharge and ordered back to his native Canada.
