Beaten-down accountant Abraham Alexander was slapped with up to six years in state bondage yesterday after admitting he embezzled nearly $250,000 and used the money for spanking sessions with a pricey Ohio dominatrix.
“You stole an awful lot of money from a very good organization. You stole the money for the purpose of obtaining pleasure for yourself,” Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Renee White said in imposing sentence.
Asked if he had anything to say, Alexander, 45, a father of two from Long Island, shook his head sheepishly.
Alexander can ease the sting of the sentence by paying back half of the $237,162 he embezzled from Manhattan’s Cardiovascular Research Foundation, whose books he did.
The judge said she would cut his jail time from two to six years to one to three years if he did so.
Unfortunately, Alexander is going through a messy divorce and his assets have been frozen by his enraged wife, Ann.
The wife, who was so angry she refused to post his $10,000 bail, claims he dipped into household cash for his pay-for-pain play.
In a whispered voice on March 28, the willingly humiliated accountant pleaded guilty to pocketing the money and using it for romps with the dominatrix, whose nom-de-paddle is Lady Sage.
Much of the money was spent on flying Lady Sage, who charges upward of $1,000 a day, from Columbus to the Big Apple for frequent spanking and discipline sessions, authorities said.
He also draped her in fancy clothes and pricey jewelry and sometimes flew to her dungeon himself, the sources said.
Outside court, Alexander’s lawyer, Hershel Katz, said his client would try to pay back some of the stolen money when he got control of his assets.
“He’s always told me, ‘I’d like to pay it back given the opportunity,’ ” the lawyer said.
Katz said Alexander is resigned to going to jail.
“He’s sorry. It’s one of those things. I guess it was a midlife crisis. He never did anything like that before,” the lawyer said.
Regardless of how much time he spends in the pen, Alexander, who was born in Singapore and is a citizen of India, will probably be deported after his release, Katz said.
Lady Sage, 43, a former hairdresser and grandmother named Pam DeBord, travels the world to accommodate well-heeled customers who find pleasure in pain.
According to her Web site, she charges $1,000 a day plus expenses and an hourly fee of $250.
“Professional domination sessions are about good people having great fun,” she says on her site, in which she’s featured in leather bondage outfits.
