FUNNY CIDE GUTS OUT WIN

The gutsy gelding Funny Cide showed everyone that he still has the will to win as he was passed by Gold and Roses at the top of the stretch but then came back again to win the $65,625 Kings Point Handicap. Richard Migliore guided the popular gelding to victory, running the mile and an eighth in 1:50.47.

4TH RACE – Eibar Coa, who easily outdistanced Mike Luzzi for the riding title, 30-17, won the first of two races on the day, gate to wire aboard Carnera.

6TH RACE – Coa won his second of the day aboard Ready Enough, who easily blew by the field for the victory.

8TH RACE – Gary Contessa was able to clinch the Aqueduct Sprint meet training title when Norberto Arroyo Jr. gave Half Heaven a perfect ground saving trip for the victory. Contessa ended up with 17 wins, one more than Richard Dutrow Jr. Raf and Ready lost all chance when Pablo Morales lost his irons soon after the start.
