DOOR OPEN FOR DEVILS TO NAB TITLE

By losing four straight attempts at clinching the Atlantic Division title, the Rangers have left the door open a crack and the Devils have every intention of barging in on the party.

The Devils face the Flyers today looking for a win and two points that will vault them back in front of Philadelphia in the Eastern standings with each team having one game left on their schedules. The Flyers finish their schedule Tuesday against the Islanders, while the Devils play Montreal in the final game of the regular season.

The Devils have won nine straight and have made the race for the division title interesting down the stretch.

The Devils, who trail the No. 3 Rangers by three points, can finish as high as third in the conference by winning the division. They also can finish No. 5, which would produce a first-round matchup against No. 4 Buffalo. If the Devils slip and finish No. 6, they will face whoever wins the division and forfeit home-ice advantage.
