In seven-furlong, $60,000 Fickle Fanny overnight stakes for fillies and mares, Slew Motion shot to front under Rich Migliore, set pace in hand well off rail pressed by Sweet Sweet to her outside, with 3-2 favorite Storm Minstrel, Slew Motion’s uncoupled entrymate for Rick Dutrow Jr., tucked in behind them under Ramon Dominguez. Around turn, Slew Motion angled closer to rail, and top of lane Storm Minstrel was bottled in behind her and inside Sweet Sweet, until Dominguez finally found seam final furlong, split them, galloped through to take command. First win in three starts for Storm Minstrel, formerly trained by Mark Hennig, since moving to Dutrow barn; second of three winners on card for Dominguez.

SECOND RACE: G Mo’s Band, who never raced on or near lead before, gunned to lead from post 1 under Alan Garcia, set pace hugging rail pressed by Tsuris, Mike Smith up, and those two ran 1-2 all way around, with Tsuris testing, failing to claw past G Mo’s Band in long stretch duel. G Mo’s Band, beaten eight, 11 and 11 lengths in first three starts at 41-1, 29-1, 19-1, paid off at 7-1. Lima Papa, 8-5 favorite shipping from Gulfstream, going turf to dirt, was very wide around clubhouse turn under Jose Santos, wide down backside to far turn, then flattened out.

THIRD RACE: Upthecreekwithali, 2-1 under Mike Luzzi, kicked away to daylight lead, chased by 7-5 favorite Cadillac Cruiser, Dominguez up, who went up to bid for lead leaving backside. They were joined outside by 14-1 Sir Tyler T under hot-riding Alan Garcia. Claimed out of victories last two starts for 10G, 14G, now stepping back up into allowance company, Sir Tyler T blew by Cadillac Cruiser and Upthecreekwithali as if they were tied to post, took command turning for home, opened up mid-stretch to win laughing. First of two winners on day saddled by Jason Servis, who struggled through winter meet with 4-for-61 mark.

FIFTH RACE: The Midnight Skier won as half of Gary Contessa entry favored at 9-5, coupled with Booming Economy, who broke down mid-stretch, unseating Pablo Morales, struggled to finish line, was taken off track in ambulance, euthanized.
