In one of a series of experiments, subjects were shown images of alcohol, weapons and “neutral” items, like plants, and words, some “aggressive,” some neutral and some meaningless. The subjects identified the aggressive words faster after seeing the alcohol or weapons.
The study is to appear in January’s Psychological Science.
