STRIKE MAY SHUT OPEN TIX OPTIONS

Ticket sellers for tennis’ U.S. Open take a strike vote today in a contract dispute.

The ticket sellers’ union said the U.S. Tennis Association has broken off negotiations, leaving the workers without a new contract and the public without purchasing options for tickets.

Tickets sold at the window by union members don’t have the extra fees of those sold by Ticketmaster.

The tournament begins Aug. 29 at the National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadow.
