LIZZIE, GET BUSY FOR TRIAL: COURT

A jury should decide whether “PoweR Girl” Lizzie Grubman was aiming to be a bad girl when she backed her dad’s SUV into a crowd of people outside a Hamptons night club, an appeals court ruled yesterday.

Grubman contended that she should not be sued for punitive damages from the 2001 crash because it was an accident. The lawyer for one victim, Sarah Thorne, argued that the publicist intentionally rammed into a crowd of 16 people, and should pay. In a unanimous ruling yesterday, the state Appellate Division declared that “an issue of fact exists as to whether her [Grubman’s] actions evidence a conscious disregard of the rights of others or conduct so reckless as to amount to such disregard.”
