ANDY’S SKATE DATE; RUDY KID COZY WITH OLYMPIAN

Meet New York’s newest young power couple.

Eighteen-year-old Andrew Giuliani – best known for flashing goofy faces and waving maniacally for the cameras during his father’s 1994 inaugural address – and Olympic gold medal figure skater Sarah Hughes, 20, made their debut on the red carpet at last week’s premiere of Scarlett Johansson’s flick “The Island.”

“We’re very good friends,” a flustered Hughes said via cellphone. “I don’t want to get too personal, but we’re close to each other. We hang out, talk on the phone and stuff.”

While the photo suggests they’re more than just friends, Hughes is keeping her Olympic lips sealed.

“We wanted to go see the movie together, and maybe we’ll go to another movie premiere in the future,” she said coyly. “Maybe he’ll watch me skate or I’ll watch him play golf.”

They’ve also been seen together at Yankee games. Andrew is a huge fan.

The duo first met seven years ago after Andrew’s mom and Rudy’s ex, Donna Hanover, interviewed Hughes for Fox’s morning show.

Matchmaker Hanover encouraged the budding athlete to get in touch with her rambunctious son, Hughes said.

But Sarah didn’t pursue a relationship with Andrew until after winning the gold medal in the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics.

“It’s nice to be friends with somebody who understands what it’s like to be young and have your picture taken,” said the petite skater from Great Neck, L.I. “He’s a nice guy. We have fun together.”

Andrew is starting his freshmen year at Duke this fall, while Hughes resumes studies at Yale.
