Most New Yorkers are in favor of hybrid electric taxis, a new poll shows.
The poll released yesterday by the Coalition Advocating for Smart Transportation also shows that the 66 percent who support the new cabs are more likely to vote for candidates who welcome the environment-friendly vehicles, which are powered by gasoline and electricity.
And 56 percent of New Yorkers would sacrifice some legroom in their cabs if it meant less air pollution.
