AXED HOSP HONCHO: NO APOLOGY

Despite his hospital’s failure to report hundreds of abnormal Pap-test results – and his having been fired Friday – Jacobi Medical Center’s former executive director was in good spirits yesterday.

“I feel good,” Joseph Orlando told The Post. “Everything is wonderful. I feel really good.”

When asked if he would like to apologize to the 307 women who, it was revealed last Tuesday, were not told of their abnormal results, Orlando, 58, did not respond.

Instead, he referred all further questions to his former employer, the city’s Health and Hospitals Corporation, before slamming the door of his Pelham Manor home.

The city blamed the fiasco on a lone clerk who had been left in charge of reporting the Pap-test results about 16 months ago.
