‘CURIOUS’ FLIERS HELD

Two men on a flight from Detroit to the Big Apple were detained yesterday after they walked up to the cockpit and said they wanted to get in, the FBI said.

The men, both from the former Soviet republic of Georgia, were taken off Northwest Airlink Flight 3741 and questioned when the plane landed at JFK around noon, said FBI spokesman Jim Margolin.

At one point in the flight, one of the men walked up to the cockpit of the plane – a 50-seat Canada Regional Jet – and said he wanted to look inside. A flight attendant said he couldn’t, and he sat down, Margolin said.

Later, as the plane was preparing to land, the other man did the same, Margolin said, but did not sit down when told he could not enter the cockpit.
