MIKE’S SWINGIN’ SIDE IS RETIRED

He’s no longer playing the field. Caught that?

As Mets superstar Mike Piazza embarked on a new future as a married man yesterday, he closed the door on a colorful bachelor life marked by his love of clubbing, fashion and pretty women.

Photographed with a slew of luscious lovelies, including numerous Playboy Playmates, and famous for hitting the hot spots as hard as he hits baseballs, Piazza is finally settling down.

The handsome hardbody met his new wife, ex-“Baywatch” babe and Playmate Alicia Rickter, in October 2002 through mutual friends and she quickly tamed his wandering eye. But before that his prowess with the ladies was almost as storied as his prowess with the bat.

Back in 2002, his ex-girlfriend and former Playmate of the Millennium, Darlene Bernaola, stepped up to the plate to announce that Shea Stadium isn’t the only place Piazza hits home runs.

“Our sex life was very, very healthy,” said the pneumatic bombshell, adding she shared “a wonderful relationship” with the Amazins’ star slugger in 2000. More recently, Piazza caused a stir when he was spotted partying at trendy One in the Meatpacking District the night before he broke the all-time home-run record for catchers last year.

Piazza, a hard-rock fan who began his major-league career in Los Angeles and became a fixture in Hollywood commercials, has long blamed the fascination with his private life on his fame.
