THE FAN’S CORNER

Consider this: An 11-year-old boy from Harlem hops a bus to Philadelphia to see a Yankees game. Good luck with that, kid.

That’s exactly what Vince Romano did. Of course, that was back in 1949.

“My mother had no idea,” said Romano, 66, who now lives on the Upper East Side. “I used to pray, ‘Please, God, if the Yanks win, I’ll never sin again.”

We do know the Yanks won both ends of a doubleheader against the Athletics that day. We don’t know how that no-sin thing worked out.

Vince’s picks: Giants, Browns, Bills, Cowboys, Steelers, Bears, Lions, Panthers, Jaguars, 49ers, Broncos, Dolphins, Chargers, Redskins, Packers, Patriots.

Last week’s fan, Donald Perkins, went 8-6 for a winning percentage of .571. Rob Kuhn retained the overall lead with a winning percentage of .786.

The fan with the highest winning percentage at the end of the season will win $1,000. In the case of a tie, the prize will be split evenly.
