B’KLYN ARABS ‘BASH’ HASID

Two Arab-American men have been arrested for roughing up a Hasidic Jew in Brooklyn – and then brutally assaulting him after finding out that he’d reported the first incident to police, cops said.

Samir Kadi, 21, was arrested Tuesday and charged with assault and menacing as a hate crime, as well as harassment and aggravated harassment, in the May 15 attack.

His alleged accomplice, Nassir Rashid, 23, was busted July 1 on the same charges.

The alleged dual assault began as brothers Cheskel and Joel Klein crossed the street at Hamilton Avenue and Henry Street in Cobble Hill on the way to visit their ailing mother at Long Island College Hospital.

A car carrying Kadi and Rashid – it is unclear who was driving – sped toward them and did not slow down as it approached a stop sign, authorities said.

“They made it look like they were going to hit us,” said Joel Klein, 21. “We kept walking, but they started screaming out of the car, ‘Stupid Jew, we will kill you!’ Let me tell you, I was really scared.”

The brothers kept walking, but Rashid got out of the car and allegedly punched Cheskel several times.

Rashid and Kadi drove off, authorities said.

But minutes later and a few blocks away, they were pulled over for a minor traffic infraction.

When the Kleins happened upon the scene, they told a police officer that Rashid had just roughed up Cheskel.

The officer said he could not make an arrest because Cheskel did not appear to have been beaten, Joel said.

Once the officer let Rashid and Kadi go, they went looking for the Kleins, sources said.

“They came right over to us and said, ‘You went to the cops. Now, we’re going to kill you,’ ” Joel Klein said.

“I thought that was it. They grabbed my brother from the back and punched him. When he fell, they kicked him. Then they took off. He was unconscious for a minute.”

Joel managed to revive his brother, and they walked to a hospital, where Cheskel was treated for a concussion and bleeding.
