DON’T be surprised if Kim Jong Il is first in line to see “Team America.”
The brutal North Korean strongman is said to be so obsessed with movies that in 1978 – while his father ruled the country – he engineered the kidnapping of South Korea’s version of Orson Welles, Shin Sang-Ok, and his actress wife, Choi Eun Hee.
They were held captive for eight years, during which time they were paid handsomely to make movies, including a “Godzilla” ripoff.
Kim spend a fortune on these film, even though most North Koreans were living in poverty.
The two finally escaped Kim’s clutches during a visit to Vienna.
Kim is said to have a collection of more than 15,000 movies and even to have written a book on film.
His favorites include “Rambo,” “Friday the 13th,” James Bond thrillers, Hong Kong action flicks and Daffy Duck cartoons.
