BROOKLYN

* Three people were shot – one fatally – when two thugs accosted them on a Bushwick street yesterday, police said.

The three were walking on Stockholm Street near Wyckoff Avenue at around 4:30 a.m., when two gunmen approached and opened fire for unknown reasons.

German Aponte, 32, was hit three times in the stomach, a 30-year-old woman was struck in the arm and a 19-year-old man was shot in the arm and leg.

The victims were taken to Wyckoff Hospital, where Aponte died. The other victims were listed in stable condition.

One shooter fled in a white van while the other rode away on a motor scooter.

* A Crown Heights man has been arrested for beating a teenager with an umbrella during a robbery, law-enforcement sources yesterday.

The incident began at 11:40 p.m. Tuesday, when Daniel Roman, 18, let his friend use his cellphone. While his pal was chatting, they were approached by Anthony Mason, 36, at Utica Avenue and Eastern Parkway, the sources said.

Mason asked Roman to leave the block, and the teen replied that he was waiting for his friend to give back his cell.

Mason then allegedly jumped Roman and pummeled him in the face while Roman tried to block the blows.

Mason then produced a broken umbrella and smashed Roman on his back before swiping Roman’s cellphone, charger and wallet, which contained cash and credit cards, the sources said.

Mason allegedly fled and Roman called 911 from a pay phone.

Police combed the neighborhood and arrested Mason near the scene.

He was charged with assault, menacing, robbery, harassment and weapons possession. Roman suffered minor injuries and refused medical attention.

* An ex-con was charged with attempted murder after stabbing and threatening an East New York man, law-enforcement sources said yesterday.

Tony Graham, 35, who served time for robbery, brandished a knife when he approached Bryant Rhames, 33, at Pitkin and Williams avenues at 2:25 a.m. on May 8 after the two men argued over a woman, the sources said.

Graham allegedly punched Rhames in the face. He then stabbed Rhames once in the chest and three times in his left forearm while Rhames tried to defend himself, police sources said. Graham, before fleeing, allegedly threatened to harm Rhames if he went to the authorities.

When EMS workers arrived, Rhames refused medical attention, but then fell unconscious as a result of his injuries.

Rhames was taken to Kings County Hospital, where he received 15 stitches to his arm.

Graham was arrested on Wednesday after Rhames saw him in East New York and told cops.

STATEN ISLAND

* Two people have been arrested for breaking into a man’s Westerleigh home and swiping his safe, court records show.

Kerianne McGowan, 21, and Edwin Faulkner, 22, allegedly entered the man’s home on Bryson Avenue near Watchogue Road at around 5:30 p.m. Sunday.

They then grabbed the safe and threw it out a window before fleeing, sources said. It was not immediately clear what was inside the safe. The suspects were arrested on Wednesday and charged with burglary, petit larceny and criminal trespass.

* A 51-year-old man struggled with police after using a bat to smash an acquaintance in Stapleton, according to court records.

Sherman Ancrum wielded a baseball bat when he confronted the man on Hygeia Place and Boyd Street at around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, the records say.

Ancrum allegedly struck the man in the arm, causing a lump.

Police arrested Ancrum, who allegedly flailed his arms in a failed bid not to be handcuffed. He was charged with attempted assault, harassment and resisting arrest.

QUEENS

* A man died yesterday after he leaped in front of a subway train in a Corona station, police said.

The man, whose name and age were not disclosed, was struck and killed by a Manhattan-bound No. 7 train at the Junction Boulevard station at around 3 a.m.

MANHATTAN

* An unidentified man was found dead yesterday outside an East Harlem apartment building, police said.

The body of the man, in his 20s, was discovered in the courtyard behind the building on East 117th Street near Second Avenue at 8:45 a.m.

Police sources said the man suffered a broken bone, but were unsure how he suffered the injury and were awaiting the results of an autopsy.
