MODEL LIFE – GLITZY ‘STAR’ WANTS TO MAKE YOU OVER

“A WOMAN MIGHT SAY HER HUSBAND NEEDS A MAKEOVER AND THAT HER FAVORITE STAR IS BRAD PITT – SO WE’LL TAKE HER HUSBAND TO BRAD PITT’S STYLIST.”

THE producers of “Live

Like a Star” know they’re not re-inventing the wheel, just adding some Hollywood glitz to a proven TV formula – the makeover show.

“We’re taking something that works really well and giving it a whole new spin,” says Bert Wheeler, who’s executive- producing the show with partner Sharon Sussman and consulting producer Glen Freyer.

“Live Like a Star” premieres today and is being rolled out regionally by Twentieth Television, which used the same formula with “Good Day Live” and “Texas Justice” (both of which now air nationally).

On “Live Like a Star,” nine Hollywood insiders specializing in different lifestyle areas will bring the glitz and glamour of Tinseltown to everyday people surprised by a friend or loved one.

For instance, someone might have their living room transformed into a replica of their favorite sitcom, or be taken on a Hollywood shopping spree.

“We’ll have beauty makeovers, room makeovers, parties, shopping sprees . . . which will have that extra layer of Hollywood glamour over them,” Wheeler says.

“If we’re doing a beauty makeover, for instance, a woman might say her husband needs a makeover and that her favorite star is Brad Pitt – so we’ll take her husband to Brad Pitt’s stylist, the guy who cuts his hair, and make him over.”

Each episode of “Live Like a Star” will include two segments featuring the specialties of the nine co-hosts: Colin Cowie and Laura Bailey (party planning); supermodel Roshumba Williams and Jennifer Rade (stylists); Lash Fary (shopper); Gerry Garvin (chef); Stuart Gilchrist and Leslie Sachs (designers); and Gregory Joujon-Roche (trainer).

“They’re all connected to the celebrity world,” Wheeler says. “A lot of these people are not TV people, but they’re all really well-known in Hollywood.

“I think we’ve got a good, eclectic bunch of people.”

“Live Like a Star” airs weekdays on Ch. 9 (3-3:30 p.m.).
