A popular street artist was caught white handed with his paint and a brush, two city cops said yesterday.
James De La Vega’s lawyer admitted the artist created a fish-themed mural in July 2003 without permission, but he did not damage the building.
“He paints a nice picture that evokes thought,” Daniel Ollen said in Bronx Criminal Court.
Prosecutor Karen Antoine argued De La Vega, 32, “has no appreciation for people’s property rights.”
