DEVELOPER SAVES CEDAR ST. BUILDING

A damaged building near Ground Zero is being saved, and will likely be turned into a Club Quarters corporate-style membership hotel.

The 12-story office building at 130 Cedar St. that formerly housed the Amish Market has been leased to a group that will do the overhaul, The Post has learned.

A spokesman for the developer said the building would receive “a major investment” and its restoration would be “compatible with neighboring buildings.”

This comes after Deutsche Bank’s announcement that 130 Liberty St. is being torn down.

The Cedar Street building had its roof pierced by one of the planes that attacked the World Trade Center on 9/11.

The developer paid the family that owned the building $4.68 million for a lease of nearly 49 years that includes an option to buy.
