TAXICAB RAMS TRAGIC GRANNY

A 90-year-old wheelchair-bound woman was critically injured when a yellow cab plowed into her as her attendant was pushing her across Park Avenue South to Union Square Park yesterday afternoon.

The elderly woman, Gramercy Park resident Edith Stillman, was rushed to St. Vincent’s Hospital, as was the attendant.

A witness said he saw a taxicab heading north on Union Square East.

It appeared to be trying to beat the light to turn onto 17th Street when a white Dodge Neon with an FDNY parking placard heading west broadsided the cab.

The first taxi smashed into another cab, sending it hurtling into the woman in the wheelchair.

Her attendant, Jinky Venturina, was knocked to the ground and also taken to St. Vincent’s. Venturina’s condition was not immediately known.

It was not immediately clear whether any of the drivers would face charges.
