An NYPD detective filed a $20 million discrimination lawsuit yesterday, accusing the top brass of assigning 95 percent of dangerous undercover drug work to Hispanic and black cops.
Richard Vazquez, a 10-year NYPD veteran, claimed in his class-action suit filed in Manhattan federal court that officers managing buy-and-bust operations often reminded that minority officers should be kept in their “proper place” – on the street where they can “be with their own kind” and buy drugs from “their own people.”
