A BOONE BOOM ALL OVER TOWN

Aaron Boone’s historic home run against the hated Red Sox was a boon for businesses selling Yankees merchandise yesterday as Bomber fans scooped up T-shirts, game jerseys and sweatshirts bearing the third baseman’s moniker.

At the Yankees Clubhouse store on East 59th Street, Boone T-shirts were flying off the racks faster than his blast left the ballpark Thursday night.

“I just had to buy a Boone shirt because he’s the reason the Yanks are in the World Series,” said Mario Morale, 23, of The Bronx. “He’s a hero and legend.”

Store manager Dan Konkowski said during an average week he sells “maybe five to 10” Boone shirts.

But yesterday they sold out their supply – about 40.

“I wish we had more,” said Konkowski. “A lot of people are coming in and asking for Boone stuff.”

Konkowski said he’s also expecting a shipment of photos capturing Boone’s epic blast, which delivered the 39th league championship pennant in franchise history and a World Series showdown with the upstart Florida Marlins.

At the Sports Authority at 51st and Third Avenue, Yankee merchandise sales was up – but business would have been much better, moaned manager Rob Abrams, if the store had some Boone apparel.

“We wish we had a couple of Boone jerseys,” he said.

He said the store stocks apparel bearing the monikers of the only big-name Bomber players such as Jeter, Clemens, Giambi, Williams and Soriano.

Carline Aaron, the department manager at Modell’s, found herself in the same predicament.

“I’m going to call on Monday and trying to get [Boone shirts] shipped in as soon as possible,” he said. Boone is “one player that’s definitely going to sell.”
