Brooklyn

A homeless man was arrested yesterday in the fatal January shooting of a 33-year-old man in a Flatbush apartment building, police said.

Jerry Ecline, 22, shot John Hernandez, 22, in the head and back on Flatbush Avenue near Dorchester Road on Jan. 30. Hernandez was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police arrested Ecline yesterday and charged him with murder and gun possession.

The body of a man was pulled from the waters off the Narrows Harbor in Bay Ridge, police said yesterday.

The body of the man, between 17 and 20 years old, was found floating 100 yards west of the Verrazano Bridge.

Police yesterday identified a 48-year-old woman found murdered in a Bedford-Stuyvesant apartment.

The body of Marcia Humphrey was discovered in bed in a rooming house on Bergen Street and Franklin Avenue Thursday morning.

A Brooklyn man wanted for shooting a man in the chest was busted in Colorado, authorities said yesterday.

Omar Gondola, 20, who was also wanted for a probation violation, was collared without incident Thursday in Colorado Springs.

Gondola allegedly shot the man on Argyle Road near Caton Avenue in Kensington on July 26.

A 61-year-old motorist was killed when her car slammed into a guardrail on the Long Island Expressway service road in Fresh Meadows, cops said.

Virginia Hoppe was heading east on Horace Harding Expressway near Francis Lewis Boulevard Thursday night when her 1985 Oldsmobile hit the railing.

Police are asking for the public’s help in finding an elderly man suffering from Alzheimer’s who disappeared from his Woodside home.

Promatha Das, 77, clad in a white T-shirt, underwear and sandals, was last seen at his home on 60th Street and 37th Avenue around 4 a.m. yesterday.

Staten Island

A 43-year-old man has been arrested for stealing a car in Dongan Hills, authorities said.

William O’Leary allegedly swiped a 1991 Chrysler from Garretson Avenue near Hancock Street Aug. 30 and was later spotted by the car’s owner.

Police were notified and arrested O’Leary on Wednesday.

A 22-year-old man has been arrested for burglarizing and vandalizing a West Brighton home, authorities said.

Between Aug. 23-30, Michael Pierce stole a case of collectible United States coins and a video game system, totaling more than $3,000, from a house on Kissel Avenue, cops said.

In a separate case, Pierce was charged with stealing a 1997 Isuzu Rodeo from Eltingville Boulevard around 8:40 a.m. Wednesday.

Bronx

Vandals broke into an Edenwald school yesterday and did extensive damage, cops said.

Police said desks, walls and classrooms were damaged and windows shattered in PS 112.

A Department of Education spokeswoman said the damage approached $100,000.

A 25-year-old man driving a stolen car was arrested yesterday after he got into a seven-vehicle accident in Co-Op City, police said.

David Crespo, 25, driving a stolen 1988 Toyota Camry, was being pursued by two public safety officers on I-95 at Bartow Avenue around 7 a.m., when he got into the accident.

One person was seriously injured in the pileup.

Manhattan

A 73-year-old man was seriously injured yesterday when he was hit by a car in the Financial District, police said.

The pedestrian was struck at Gold and Franklin streets around 6:30 a.m. and taken to Bellevue Hospital.
