The Susquehana Tool & Die Company performs its hillbilly music (“half covers and half songs that sound like covers,” says singer Michael McMahon) Wednesday and July 30 at Otto’s Shrunken Head (538 E. 14th St.; [212] 228-2240), and Saturday at the Lakeside Lounge.

The Small Potatoes, a newcomer band performing ’50s-style country covers, performs at the Lakeside Lounge Aug. 2.

Sean Kershaw & the New Jack Ramblers perform free “hot-blooded honky-tonk” every Sunday at Hank’s Saloon (46 Third Ave., Boerum Hill, Brooklyn; [718] 625-8003). Tonight, the Damn Lovelys will also perform.

Gowanus Canal Boys are often seen ripping up honky-tonk at the Liberty Heights Tap Room (34 Van Dyke St., Red Hook, Brooklyn; [718] 246-1793).

Todd Deatherage Band mixes twang with rock and performs at the Luna Lounge (171 Ludlow St.; [212] 260-2323) Aug. 16.

Earl Pickens & the Black Mountain Marauders play “country-rock-and-western-roll” at places like the Rodeo Bar (375 Third Ave., [212] 683-6500), where you’ll also find the Hangdogs, Western Caravan‘s western swing with Thirsty Dave and lots of C&W others.

New York-based country singer/songwriter Amy Allison, daughter of jazz/blues legend Mose Allison, performs at the Fez (380 Lafayette St.; [212] 533-2680) on July 29.

And Buddy Woodward & the Nitro Express perform July 29 as part of Hoboken Summer Concerts at Frank Sinatra Park in Hoboken, N.J.
