SPURNED LOVER IN HORROR ATTACK

A Bronx man who was heartbroken by his lover’s attempt to break up with him allegedly shot the woman in a blind rage yesterday – and then ran her down with a van as she tried to escape screaming, “He’s murdering me,” police and witnesses said

Delroy “Spaghetti” Pitterson, 36, shot Eunice Deacon, 37, once in the hand with a 9mm Taurus handgun in the lobby of her building on Holland Avenue – then hit her with the vehicle in a harrowing attack that she miraculously survived, cops said.

Pitterson is married with three children, but was having an affair with Deacon – who apparently wanted to end the relationship because she found another man, police sources told The Post.

Pitterson, who is called Spaghetti because of his thin physique, did not take the news well, neighbors said.

“This woman had two boyfriends and she was trying to get rid of Spaghetti,” said area resident Frank Jenkins, 30. “I guess his heart got broken. You do a lot of things when your heart is broken.

“I guess it was a love rage thing,” he said.

Pitterson shot Deacon just before 7 a.m., several hours after an incident in which another man slapped her in the street and then turned on Spaghetti and said “what are you going to do about it?” according to neighbors who witnessed the violence.

After Pitterson shot the mom of three, she tried to run for her life, cops said.

“I heard a couple of shots fired and then I saw the woman running out of the building yelling ‘Murder! Murder! He’s murdering me!’ ” said a witness who asked not to be identified.

Deacon ran down Holland Avenue to Burke Avenue.

Pitterson sped his white Dodge van onto the sidewalk and steered it toward her, police said.

Deacon ran into the street, but could not get away. Neighbors said Pitterson’s van hit her, knocked her wig into the air, and then ran over her battered body.

“She was crying and she was in a lot of pain. She was crying and her daughter was there saying, ‘I can’t believe he did this to you!’ ” said another neighbor.

Pitterson later surrendered to police.
