SLASHED SECRETARY ‘IN SHOCK’ BUT OUT OF HOSP

A young Brooklyn secretary whose face was savagely slashed and doused with a caustic liquid by two teen punks was out of the hospital yesterday, but “still in shock,” according to her enraged boss.

“There was no reason for anyone to do this,” an irate Iwona Kurek said of the brutal attack on Agata Karsnicka, 22, in a storefront office in Greenpoint that helps Polish immigrants.

Kurek said cops suggested to her that the attack was gang related – possibly an initiation – because the assailants “were very young, they wore the same clothes and the same colors and they didn’t ask for anything, they just came to hurt her.”

But a police source said, “We’re looking at it more as a personal matter.”

Karsnicka was at her desk at the Driggs Avenue office Monday when the two hoods walked in and went right up to her, Kurek said.

When Karsnicka asked, “Can I help you?” one of them put a finger to his mouth and said, “Shhh.”

“Then one guy grabbed her hair from the back, pulled it up and slashed her face – from here to here,” Kurek said, moving her index finger down the right side of her face, from temple to upper lip.

His accomplice followed by splashing Karsnicka in the face with a stinging liquid, she said.

Then the two fled.

It took 40 stitches to close Karsnicka’s gaping wound.

Kurek said the victim came to the United States from Poland two years ago.
