COPS PROBE CURIOUS DEATHS OF L.I. COUPLE

An autopsy set for today could shed light on the mysterious deaths of a Long Island couple whose bodies were found on their dining-room floor over the weekend.

Suffolk police had no idea what caused the deaths of Giullio Romano, 66, and Julie-Ann Low, 61. Investigators said they found no signs of violence in their Quogue home.

The couple’s bodies were discovered after Romano’s brother, Autio Romano, 61, contacted authorities.

Autio Romano, who lives in Italy, told police he became so alarmed after failing to contact the couple by phone, he flew to New York from Milan. His son, Giullio, who lives in Houston, also flew here.

They called authorities Saturday when no one answered the door at the couple’s house on Brook Road.

A police spokesman said the couple had been dead “a long time.”

Police and firefighters found the bodies at 3:35 p.m. after breaking down the door of the house.
