KID ‘CROOKS’ IN CANAL PLUNGE

Five Long Island teens out joy-riding in a stolen car crashed into a Suffolk County canal while being pursued by cops, according to police.

Four of the teens climbed ashore on their own; the fifth was pulled to safety by police.

The car, a 1988 Nissan, had been stolen Saturday afternoon from a 7-Eleven parking lot in St. James.

The 14-year-old driver was treated for hypothermia and then charged with fourth-degree grand larceny and released into his father’s custody.

Two female passengers, one 14 and one 15, were charged with unauthorized use of an automobile and released to their parents.

Two 17-year-old boys were held overnight for arraignment.
