WEIRD BUT TRUE

A plaster bust of Elvis in a tiny Dutch town wept “miracle” tears yesterday on the 25th anniversary of the beloved crooner’s death, the statue’s owner said.

Elvis impersonator and self-described spiritual medium Toon Nieuwenhuis also said the ghost of the King of Rock appeared at his house in the southern Netherlands last week.

Wearing a tasseled black leather jacket, wig and sunglasses, Nieuwenhuis said the bust started weeping just shortly after breakfast. “When you taste it, it’s salty,” he said. “It’s a miracle.”

A judge in Ontario, Canada, who once tossed a lawyer from her courtroom for wearing a cleavage-enhancing V-neck shirt, has now booted an accused female shoplifter for donning a half-shirt.

Justice Micheline Rawlins told lawyer David Jacklin’s belly-button-showing client to go home and change and yelled at Jacklin for allowing his client to show up with the top in the first place, said the Chatham Daily News.

“Frankly, your honor, I didn’t notice,” said Jacklin, who then went to “check to make sure my other clients are appropriately dressed.”

Two British actors are trying to save a pig on the lam.

“McQueen” the pig, who’s made news for his great escape from a Scottish slaughterhouse, has won the hearts of thespians Martin Shaw and Jenny Seagrove.

“The pig wants to live. We are prepared to pay double the market value to save McQueen,” said the duo, who are currently filming a British TV drama.

McQueen, named after Steve McQueen, broke free on Tuesday and was last seen in a forest two miles from the Dunblane chop shop.

An emergency medical technician who helped transport an injured 16-year-old to a hospital in Fergus Falls, Minn., on July 27 is accused of being the one who hurt him in a hit-and-run accident earlier that evening.

The injured teen, Morgan Taylor of Elbow Lake, suffered three broken ribs, a bruised lung and severe facial lacerations that will require plastic surgery.

He didn’t dare say anything when he first realized his helper had been his attacker. “I looked at him; I think he looked back at me,” he said. “It was kind of weird. I was scared.”
