TRAVELER’S UPDATE

Purple monster

Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari in Santa Claus, Ind., will bring thrill lovers a very big, very wet present in mid-May, when it premieres “ZOOMbobwe.” Purported to be the world’s largest enclosed water slide, it’s 102 feet high, 887 feet long, 9 to 12 feet in diameter, bright purple on the outside and pitch black within. Entire families will be able to board huge yellow five-person rafts to plunge down the 10-story drop. Also at the park: the Raven, a famous wooden roller coaster, and free soft drinks and SPF 30 sunscreen; (877) 463-2645, http://www.holidayworld.com.
