New Jersey officials will move to extradite a murder suspect who held his 3-year-old son hostage in his Brooklyn home on Monday in a desperate bid to escape capture.
Vincent Nguyen, 25, had threatened to shoot his way out of his apartment or kill his son, but surrendered without incident after a five-hour standoff.
His son, Nicholas, was not injured, and no weapons were found in his apartment.
Vincent Nguyen was being sought by New Jersey police for the Sunday night shooting death of Tuan N. Theiu, 20, of Bloomfield, N.J., a fellow guest at a wedding reception in a Green Brook restaurant.
Police said Nguyen would be charged with reckless endangerment, endangering the welfare of a child and menacing.
