TEACHER HAD SEX WITH TEENAGE STUDENT WHILE DATING MOM: COPS

A two-timing Bronx teacher had sex with one of his 15-year-old students while romancing her unsuspecting mom at the same time, cops said yesterday.

Mark Levy, 31, a special-education teacher at John F. Kennedy HS, was charged yesterday with statutory rape, and reassigned to the Bronx superintendent’s office.

Levy was teaching the 15-year-old girl at Christopher Columbus HS in The Bronx when he met her 31-year-old mother at a parent-teacher night in December 2000 and began dating her, police said.

Cops say he began having sex with the schoolgirl three months later while baby-sitting her and her 5-year-old sister at his apartment on Douglas Street in Riverdale.

They say Levy, who is a tenured teacher, broke up with the mother last May but continued having sex with her daughter, who is now 16, until Sunday, when the older woman learned of the relationship.

The mother apparently learned of the affair when her youngest daughter, who is now 6, hinted that she had seen the pair in bed.

“The 6-year-old saw them in bed and that led her to make a comment that alerted her mom,” a police source said. “At first she [the schoolgirl] denied it, but she then ‘fessed up.”

The mother called cops after confronting the teacher, who transferred to JFK last June but allegedly continued see his former student.

Levy was arrested early yesterday at an apartment on Fairfield Avenue.

A doorman at Levy’s building said the teacher was single, and added that he hadn’t seen him there since the weekend.

The new allegations came after another Bronx teacher, Jessica Sanchez, 25, who works at MS 143, was charged last week with raping and sodomizing a 15-year-old male student.

An investigation by The Post last summer found that, on average, at least one child is sexually abused by a school employee every day in New York City schools.
