STARR REPORT

Ex-‘Headline'(r) opens up web shop

Lynne Russell, who left “CNN Headline News” last year, has logged onto the ‘Net with her own website, lynne-russell.com.

“These are the kinds of things men and women should be talking about to enhance their lives,” says Russell of the website. “I’ve been wanting to do [the site] for so long, but CNN wouldn’t let me.

” ‘Lynnerussell.com’ expired and a cyber-squatter in Britain picked it up,” she says. “I’m going to have to have a little chat with him.”

So why the website? “I would love for men and women to use the site to talk about different things,” Russell says. “Like, ‘Let’s talk about last night.’ It’s about what men and women want.

“Nobody really knew about the site, but it got 44,000 hits on Valentine’s Day,” says Russell. “They’ve all been very respectful and classy about it – nobody has said, ‘Show me your [breasts]’ – well, they’ve alluded to it.”

Russell, who’s also pursuing an acting career, is waiting to see if a U.S. distributor picks up a Canadian TV drama called “The Ride,” starring Yaphet Kotto. If that occurs, she will likely shoot some episodes of the series.

‘Dance’ card could make you a star

Fox is holding an open casting call for a pilot based on the big-screen movie, “Save the Last Dance” – and they’re serious about finding teens from New York to star in the show about a ballerina who undergoes a life-altering experience.

Fox will be here in New York this Saturday from 12 to 4 p.m. at Raw Space, 531 West 42nd St. between 10th and 11th avenues. The casting directors are looking for male and female African-Americans with acting and dance experience to play teenagers, and for a Caucasian woman with acting and dance experience (also to play a teen). All actors must be at least 18 years old.

Interested applicants should attend in person, bring valid ID and a current photo and be prepared to dance.

* Tuesday’s “Knicks Bowl” at Chelsea Piers raised $335,000 for the Red Holzman Knicks Cheering for Children Foundation. Bobby Cannavale, Star Jones, Meredith Vieira, Ananda Lewis and Robin Quivers were among those at the event.
