MASSAGE-CHAIR SHOP TO SIT ON MADISON AVE.

New York’s economy may be hurting, but at least New Yorkers’ backs won’t have to suffer.

The maker of Japan’s top-selling massage chair has decided New York needs its services and will launch it’s first U.S. store on Madison Avenue at the start of the new year.

But don’t get too comfortable. The price tag on the Inanda chairs range from $3,000 to $3,500, depending on if it comes with the music program.

Inanda’s president, Nichimu Inanda, said bad economy or not – people will spend on themselves.

“Americans live fast-paced lives in normal times, and now stress levels are higher than ever,” said Inanda, whose company makes Japan’s top-selling luxury shiatsu massage chair.

“We like to think of it as Japan lending its own form of therapy to America.”

Inanda will open its doors at a Midtown Madison Avenue location to take advantage of the stressed-out lunchtime crowd looking for serious stress relief.

And Inanda execs say if anyone can ease the tensions of nervous New Yorkers – they can.

Referred to as the “Medical Chair” in Japan, it is the only massage chair using state-of-the-art infrared technology to scan the body’s pressure points, creating a custom program.

“We were the first to use the fundamentals of Eastern medicine in our massage chairs,” Inanda said.

In the company’s latest model, knot-in-the necked New Yorkers will benefit from the Synchronized Music Program, which combines music with massage to “broaden the sensory experience.”
