ROAD-RAGE BUST: HE PICKED ON COP

A suburban driver went on a spitting, cursing and window-smashing road-rage rampage yesterday after cutting off a New York City cop on a Long Island highway, police said.

Louis Mazzeo, 26, of 1233 Garden Place in Wantagh was driving his 1987 Mercedes Benz at 2:40 p.m. Tuesday when he allegedly cut off a car driven by off-duty Officer Cleveland Zollicoffer of the 103rd Precinct in Queens.

According to State Police, Mazzeo slammed on his brakes, got out of his car on the Southern State Parkway near the Wantagh Parkway, and stomped toward Zollicoffer’s vehicle – yelling obscenities and spitting in the stunned officer’s face.

Even Zollicoffer’s efforts to avoid further enraging Mazzeo by driving around his car were to no avail – Mazzeo used his fist to shatter Zollicoffer’s windshield, cops said.

Mazzeo was charged with criminal mischief. His car was impounded.
