THIS RACE STRICTLY FOR AMATEURS

At noon there will be a non-wagering race for the Amateur Riders Club of America. This is the final event on the ARCA circuit. Leigh Offut and Eric Cohn share the lead in the standings with 43 points. Offut will be aboard Right Now, who comes off a second place finish at The Meadowlands. Cohn will be aboard Unend, who finished three lengths behind Right Now in that race.

This is the final day of racing scheduled for the main track. On Wednesday, racing switches to the inner track. Racing will be held on the inner track until approximately early March. NYRA is hopeful that turf racing could be run during the week. Two races were carded as extras for Wednesday. Post time will remain the same at 12:30 p.m.

1ST RACE – Folly Dollar was bet down to even money and she set the pace with Risque Revue chasing on the rail. Turning for home Folly Dollar was full of run and she drew off to an easy victory. The two early trailers in the race, Totally Private and Alerted By Gold, closed well to get the place and show spot.

2ND RACE – Patti’s Pro set the pace and drew off to a seemingly comfortable lead at the top of the stretch. But then at the sixteenth pole, she seemed to hit the wall and shortened her stride. Well Fancied, who stalked the pace while wide, was able to come on and gain the lead near the wire for the victory. Aaron Gryder rode the winner instead of Robbie Davis, who called in sick in the morning.

3RD RACE – Star Wager pressed the pace set by Buxton Field. At the top of the stretch Star Wager was able to get up to gain the lead. She started to draw off but then faced a fresh challenge from La Cat, who was closing strongly on the outside. But La Cat ran out of track and ended up second best.

5TH RACE – Deputy’s Delight was bet down to 3-5 under Ray Ganpath. Deputy’s Delight stalked the pace while wide and made a four wide move on the turn to gain the lead. Mandalay Point, who was bumped at the start, raced alongside Deputy’s Delight and went with her to battle for the lead. In the stretch, Mandalay Point still had something left and drew off for the victory while Deputy’s Delight finished second for the third consecutive race.

6TH RACE – Carafe stumbled at the start and was last soon after the start. Carafe then rushed up to press the early pace set by I’m A Little Busy. At the top of the stretch Carafe gained the lead, but her early efforts took enough out of her so she couldn’t withstand the closing kick of Erin Moor.
