BIGAMY WIDOW: I SYMPATHIZE WITH SHOT OTHER WIFE

One of the widows of a Brooklyn bigamist doctor said yesterday she “sympathizes” with the other widow – who escaped death in a botched bump-off attempt allegedly masterminded by their brother-in-law.

Also yesterday, cops arrested a Maplewood, N.J., man and charged him with being the second gunman in Monday’s attack on Eliette Dominique.

New Jersey parole officials picked up Marvin Gedin, 20, at the request of Nassau County cops.

Police had already busted accused shooter Alexander Exama, 19, and the alleged orchestrator of the bizarre hit attempt – Eliette’s brother-in-law, Aly Dominique, a 44-year-old chemistry teacher at Erasmus Hall HS in Flatbush.

Cops said Aly planned to bump off Eliette and her two teenage children – who are also his niece and nephew – in order to gain control over the estate of his late brother.

The brother, Jean-Claude Dominique, a doctor at Kings County Hospital, was killed last year in a still-unsolved hit-and-run auto incident.

After his death, it was revealed the doctor had two wives – Eliette, whom he married in 1980, and another woman, Betsy Dominique, a bank employee who lives in Irvington, N.J., whom he married in 1982.

A judge has ruled that Eliette was the legitimate wife.

Betsy’s lawyer, Yvonne Gardner, said her client “sympathizes with what happened” to Eliette.

Gardner said Betsy had no involvement in the murder plot, adding that she “would like to maintain her privacy.

Eliette was released from the hospital yesterday – but went to stay with relatives rather than return to the home where she was attacked, said her lawyer, Charles Sloane.

Eliette was struck in the hand and grazed on the head when two gunmen opened fire as she walked out her door.

Police said Aly promised to pay Exama $7,000 for the murder and several thousand dollars more to Gedin.

Teachers and students at Erasmus were shocked by the allegations against their teacher.

“He’s innocent. I want him back in school,” said student Denese Dunwell, 17.
