BOXER-IMPOSTOR RAPIST KO’D

A Manhattan judge sentenced a remorseless serial rapist who posed as a respected boxer to 148 years in prison yesterday so “the women of New York will be safe from you for the rest of your life.”

“You are a predator,” State Supreme Court Justice Renee White told Alberto Lugo, who posed as middleweight boxing great Alex Ramos for almost 20 years.

“You are a predator of women in this community. [They] need to be protected from you forever.”

Lugo, 38, stood nodding his head as the judge sentenced him for three sexual assaults on women last year.

The impostor, who was convicted for impersonating Ramos and raping a stewardess in 1985, maintained he’s the victim of several “conspiracies.”

“I’m innocent of all these charges,” he said.

The first victim, whom he drugged, took to his hotel room and raped, went with him voluntarily, he said.

The second – whom he lured to his hotel room by telling her he wanted to interview her as a ring-card girl, before drugging and raping her – “took her panties off and smoked crack with me,” he said.

When he took the drugs because “she was smoking all my crack,” she got angry and went to the cops and told them “I raped her,” Lugo complained

His third victim, whom he choked and sexually assaulted in a bar bathroom, was “offered compensation” by police to testify against him, he said.

“In all reality, I’m a victim in this. I’m a victim, not a perpetrator,” he said.

The judge, obviously disgusted by Lugo’s comments, handed down the maximum prison sentence allowed by law.

“You have absolutely no remorse and no compassion for your victims,” the judge said.

The real Ramos, a four-time Golden Gloves champ who lives in California, testified during the trial, but was not in court yesterday.

But Jacquie Richardson, executive director of Ramos’ Retired Boxers Foundation, said he was “delighted” with the sentencing.

“Alex was absolutely shocked that he got that many years,” said Richardson. “He was very emotional about it. This guy’s been dogging him for 20 years.”
